1208 Jersey Circle 3A Christmas style

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the newest set of Burkeys!!!! Here's a glimpse into the winter wonderland we've been living in for the past month. [I wanted to start decorating in August, Tim said no.]
Here's Jen putting up our tree. She did most of the set up. I was exhausted because the night before was Thanksgiving and I was up all night with Tim and his eye. So a big THANK YOU goes out to Jen Hosey!!
Here's our Nativity set that Jen put together. I'll have to call her next year to do it all again!
Our Swedish candles from my mom

Some of my favorite ornaments. This one says "Our First Christmas." Never got around to putting our picture in it. I'll put one in before I pack it so that it's ready to go for next year... I hope I get around to it... wink wink... Carrie come help!
I ended up moving our tree to make room for our couch. Here's the before:Here's the after:

The story of the Christmas moose... So Michele got this reindeer for me a few years back and I've been really excited to put it out for Christmas. So excited that randomly one night this past summer, when we bought our china cabinet, I told Tim that I have a sweet "Christmas Moose" that I'd like to put next to it when we decorate our apartment for Christmas. He was like, "Cool!" I guess I said it a time or two to him and when it was time to decorate I pulled it out and he was like, "KIM! That's not a MOOSE, that's a REINDEER! LOOK AT HIS NOSE!!!" Whoops! My bad, we all know how I am with describing things and, well, talking in general. Anyway, short story long, :) Word got to Jamey and Carrie about my "Christmas Moose" mix up and now everyone makes fun of me uncontrollably and they decided to get us a REAL Christmas moose from build a bear!!
They named him Marshall F. Burkey. Get it?? :) I love them... and both of my Christmas moose! Our centerpiece:

OHIO or BUST with a crabby girl

So I guess our camera doubles as a video camera. Nice to know, guess I should have read the manual a year ago.

Here's a little window into our marriage..... I was very overtired, in my defense. I don't ALWAYS talk to Timmy like this. We were driving to Tim's aunt and uncles house in Lima, Ohio and we were very late. We pulled over at some random rest stop to fix the ice in our cooler... enjoy!!

I love my husband.

Backwards Post

Gingerbread house making time!! Last Friday Ann, Andrew, Jamey & Carrie came over to make gingerbread houses. For some reason my computer has posted the pictures backwards and will not let me edit them.... and I am too lazy to delete them and start completely over. So, start from the bottom and work your way up :)

Casa de Jamey & Carrie, then Tim & Kim and finally Andrew & Ann
[Please note the center house, our house, has the least amount of candy. That's because one piece made it to our gingerbread house and then one piece to my husbands mouth. That continued all night long.]
They had some extra frosting
I was not happy... Tim took over

I thought it was going to be a cute pic, he thought candy!

Our mess
He looks so peaceful in the beginning.

Kim said "Smile!"
This is what I got:

Little Full, Lot a Sap

It's that time of year again!! My [Kim's] FAVORITE time of year!! Our apartment is decorated and we've had our annual Marshall Fields trip downtown Chicago. Amy & Jeremy came up and we all rode together. After a very eventful morning and several wardrobe changes for Kim & Jeremy we headed downtown and had an awesome time. I'll add more pictures of our apartment and our new couch later, until then enjoy the last few days!!
I drove my nephew into the city without any problems... it was weird driving with a baby in the car, especially for me and driving in Chicago. I'm sure you can all understand :)
The view from our tableLast night Tim played guitar at the Growing Kids Christmas show.
I took a few very random shots.
