2009

I can't believe it's 2009. I can't believe that February is just a few days away. I can't believe how much I've neglected this blog. I don't have a lot of time to write now, although I do have a lot to say. We're making a lot of changes around here. Setting goals and living intentionally. Thanks to some wise advise we've set career goals, financial goals, spiritual goals, physical goals, intellectual goals, family goals and social goals for this year. We've made them specific and measurable, they have a time limit and are in writing. Most importantly they are OUR goals, set by us. We aren't following a herd here folks.

Here's a short list of everything new [so far in 2009] and interesting [to Kim] in the Burkey [Tim & Kim divison] household:

• We sold the Jeep
• We've been working out (somewhat randomly lately... but it still counts!)
• We've joined e-mealz
• Tim now leads worship at Gospel Center Missionary Church on Thursday nights in addition to playing at GCC
  
• We've had to borrow another Gustafson vehicle for the millionth time... the cougar is dead for now
• My office moved to down town Elkhart
• My mom and I went down to Indianapolis to visit Amy & Jeremy
• Amy & Jeremy came up to Granger to visit the family
• Tim turned 27
• We finally sat down and completed our debt snowball
• We paid for our ENTIRE Christmas "season" with cash!!
• We've almost made it to the eight- month mark of our marriage
  
• Little Matt Parker is getting married
• I'm reading at least one book a month. Tim is reading way more than me.
• We've DVR'd the entire Planet Earth series and we're going to sit down and read the entire book of Genesis together and then watch it. I'm pumped!
• I've now watched all three Lord of the Rings movies
• We bought a Impala
• I'm keeping a book of all the way's we've been blessed this past year. It's amazing to look back and see how he has provided for us... God is good!
• I'm loving Glenn Becks new show and...
  
• We're watching less TV. I won't be able to tell you much about what happened last night on TV but I will be able to quote Psalm 23 by heart. Hopefully the scales continue to shift in that direction.

The day after Christmas we headed down to Bloomington [U.S. 31 & U.S. 20 were closed = awesome ride down there] to have Christmas with the Gustafsons at Dan's house. Enjoy!
