Penny for Your Thoughts....
After doing a lot of research and thinking things through Tim and I have decided not to go anywhere far or $$ for our vacation this year. We have so many weddings and events that we need to travel for this year that we thought we should not plan anything too big. Instead, we've decided to stay home and still take some time off from work and just do things locally. We're thinking we'll spend one day at Potato Creek, since neither of have ever been there. We'll spend another day at the beach, and so on and so on. So what thoughts do I need? We've decided to take our vacation money and put it towards a new camera. We thought our money would be better spent that way, especially since we haven't had one in over a year and this would probably be the year to get one. So which camera should we get?! We're thinking something like this but we're totally clueless and don't want to spend that much. Thoughts? Opinions?? Advice???

One. Two. Three.
The end of month one:
The end of month two:
The end of month three:
It is a lot harder than I thought to remember to take these pictures! Now that I'm getting bigger and bigger I'll try to remember to take them weekly. Over the past weekend I've really "puffed" out. It may have something to do with the fact we finished these little gems off. My mom brought those over for us the same day we met baby Chauncey for the first time.
And this is baby Chauncey [until we come up with a real name, which we'll probably keep a secret until baby day]! We weren't supposed to see him/her yet but the doctor couldn't hear the baby's heartbeat [which we were prepared for since I was only 10 weeks at the time] so she pulled out the ghetto ultrasound machine and found the little stinker twisting and doing flips all over the place, with a very healthy heartbeat! Since it was an unplanned/ghetto ultrasound we were able to take home this "old school" picture, as the nurse called it, for frizzle.

Droppin Da Bomb
So here's how we told our families about Baby Burkey... I'm writing this so I remember this :)
The plan was to tell my side first, since it is much harder to get everyone together at the same time. We were set up to spend the weekend at my older brothers house in Bloomington and then my parents became uber social and couldn't make it. So we had to come up with a Plan B. We decided to tell them a few weeks ahead of time. Tim had to be at a conference all morning on a Saturday morning so I spent a few hours hanging out at my parents. Back up a little bit... for Christmas we gave my mom a bunch of picture frames to hang [kind of like my wall] and I told her I'd help her organize her photo wall someday. Well, I made that Saturday "someday." While we were working on where to place the frames, I told her that I had forgotten to give her a frame and it was still at my house. I never told here when I'd bring it over, so we just grabbed another 5x7 and used it as a mock frame. What she didn't know was that I told Tim when he was done at Open Door to run home and grab the frame and bring it to my parents house. So while we were working on the frames Tim just walked in unannounced, handed the frame to my mom and said "Here, Kim said she forgot to give this to you."
The night after we got back in town we hosted the Burkey side over for "BYOFFOTVD" [Bring your own fast food or TV dinner] We chose this route because I was getting sick all of the time and couldn't bare the thought of making anything. When everyone was there, except for Mark b/c he had to work :( , Ann went to change Luke's diaper and put him into the third shirt I made [Ann & Andrew already knew the news] and then a button up shirt on over it. Once he came back out Tim was like "What in the world is he wearing?!?" and unsnapped his shirt revealing the news. Everyone was very excited! We didn't take any pictures, mostly because I was focusing on not ralphing on our guests and that took all of my attention.

My mom looked at it like 3 times and then started screaming. The look on her face was priceless. She cried a little, hugged us and then yelled to my dad. His response? "I knew like an hour and a half ago." bwahhhhh!!!! I guess I don't hide my discomforts well ;)
A few weeks later we packed our bags and headed down to Bloomington to hang out with my brothers and sister. I made some very homemade T-shirts for the boys that said "Big Cousin." As soon as they got to my brothers house I grabbed Ben and took him upstairs while I got ready. Then I slipped his shirt on him and Tim brought him back downstairs. We never said a word but Amy quickly noticed that her 8 month old son looked like a football player. She screamed too. We couldn't get Jeremy to follow, so he just carried his shirt around. Here's how that played out.... Amy's Blog.

Finally. Everyone knew our news.
