- She wakes up so happy every morning.
- If she wakes up singing... daddy gets to change her diaper, wink wink ;)
- She's a lot like her daddy when she needs to be woken up [which is a rare occasion]. It takes a good 10 minutes to get her eyes open and her brain working. Definitely a Burkey in that sense. Bwahhhhh.
- She can sit up on her own.
- She rolls out of tummy time like it's her job.
- So far, in her short little life, she's eaten carrots, bananas, sweet potatoes, peas, apples, pears and rice cereal. Your average baby diet.
- She is now 100% formula fed [Mom screams FREE AT LAST!!]. No more nursing or pumping here. I'm so glad I was able to nurse Kiersten for 6+ months [yes, I added a + for the one week we went past her 6-month birthday :) ]. I am also so glad I am no longer nursing/pumping. That is a full-time job in and of itself! High five to moms who nurse. Double high five to moms that nurse longer than 6 months. Triple high five to moms who work 40+ hours a week and nurse full time longer than 6 months. You. Are. Amazing. Please pat yourself on the back and then write a
blogbook and share all of your secrets on how you did not pull out all of your hair during your nursing months. Sense the stress level it added to my life? :) I'm so happy I was able to do it. I'm glad I was able to continue when I went back to work. I'll definitely do it again if/when we have more children. But I'm glad that season has passed for now. - We're using Up & Up formula from Target. We used Similac for a while. That's what she had at the hospital so I felt "safe" giving it to her. And Similac kept sending free containers in the mail to get us hooked. Fail on their part—they have no idea that I consider penny pinching a part-time job.
- She's been "kicked out" of the nursery four times so far in 2012. Awesomesauce. She's definitely a Baby Wise baby; but if you take her off of her schedule, look out.
- We've started to try to think about changing her schedule so she sleeps more during the day. It's kind of working. I think once she starts crawling it will naturally happen. Until then, we'll deal with a baby that only sleeps 2 - 3 hours a day [poor mama].
- She loves watching "older" kids play. Jeremy & Ben were in town for a few days and she loved just watching them play. Luke spent a few hours with us last weekend and Kiersten would just scream at him with excitement while he played. The nursery volunteers have taken her down to the toddler room to watch the kids play because it takes away her tears. :) She's going to be a social baby.
- She's still sleeping through the night. Lately she has been going to sleep around 8:30 and wakes up around 7:00.
- She's still a daddy's girl!
- If you reach your arms out to her she'll lean towards you letting you know she wants you to hold her.
- She's just the sweetest baby ever!!!!!

Whoa!
So, like everyone else, our life is crazy. So crazy, that I haven't had time to blog. I haven't signed into blogger since my last post and BOOM everything is different. What happened?!? I'm not a google fan... thinking about making the switch to WordPress. People Bloggers always talk about how much better Wordpress is. I'm sure you're excited to know this. Definitely blog worthy. Definitely! :)
