sad news...

I found out that one of my favorite places has closed... Hannah's in New Buffalo. You can read about it here. We've had so many family get togethers here along with my high school graduation dinner and one of my bridal showers [click it]. You will be missed, Hannahs. Tear.

The Kings of Lion

That's right. I usually, accidentally, call Kings of Leon: The Kings of Lion. I am awesome, I know. Anyway, Tim introduced me to this band a few months or weeks ago... not sure on that detail... and I really liked them. The way he introduced me to them, though, has caused quit the icky feeling in my belly. You see, Tim and I [dragging my feet] have been doing P90X, as often as we can, and instead of listening the the DVD Tim plugs his ipod into our stereo. For like a week straight he played Kings of Leon, and it helps our workouts move right along. Fast forward to today. Whenever I hear Kings of Leon on the radio it takes me right back to my workouts, which, in-turn, brings that icky belly feeling back to my belly. So now I have a love hate relationship with the band. That's it; that's my story.

Aren't you glad you know that about me?!

bulldawg

I've been given a nickname from my mother... bulldawg. Apparently, when I want something or really want to have my way I'm like a bulldog. I bite down and I don't let go until I get my way. I don't know if that's true or not, but I do hear my husband say, quit often, "don't try to bulldawg me." Holler. This leads me to the point of this message... I've been blogging more and updating MY blog, the life of a bulldawg, these past few weeks. Just wanted to let you know. Check it out here. I started this blog in the fall of 2006 so take a look around and go back in time with me. I'm not sure how often I'll keep updating it, but I'm on a roll for now.

p.s. I spell it bulldawg vs. bulldog because I am ghetto-fabulous.

Owen Michael

Last weekend Mark, Lauren and Owen were in town for Josh & Tiffany's wedding. All three stayed one night with us and I finally have my own pictures of Owen. Sadly, these are the only two. We were up too late [hanging out with Mark & Lauren tends to do that to us ;) ] so I wasn't really awake the next morning to have a little photo shoot with our littlest nephew. I did come out of the bathroom to see Tim and Owen bond during tummy time. So cute. We're heading down to Nashville soon to visit them... I'll get tons of pictures then. Until then, enjoy Mr. Owen on our living room floor.

Jeremy meets the Beach and Carmelina

The weekend of the 4th of July was very busy around these parts. My entire family and Tim's entire family were all in town. If we would have planned better maybe we could have all had a get together... that would have de-stressed the weekend... a little!! Next time Burkeys and Gustafsons! Here are some of the highlights from our weekend. Mr. Jeremy Owen hit the beach for the first time... and Bethany Beach at that!! There is so much family history there... it's so cool!! I successfully fed and rocked him to sleep on the beach. High-fiving myself. Don't you just want to pinch those cheeks!!!!

the dreaded walk
always trying to eat my camera

Car stopped by the Woodcliff Manor and had dinner with my family. I just stood around and watched. It was really weird. It was like the scene from Ghost Dad [I think that's the movie I'm thinking of] where he's dead but in the room watching everyone. Car and I stopped by just as my mom, dad, brothers and sister sat down to eat dinner. Car hadn't eaten yet so she joined them. I played with Jeremy and we bounced around the kitchen as my family ate and chilled like I wasn't there. Not that they were ignoring me; they were just eating dinner. It was really weird. My point is [thinking really hard trying to remember my point... oh yeah... got it!]... Car met Jeremy for the first time:
We also completed the Lubsen puzzle; which all of us on the Gustafson side have picked up as a new/old hobby.
Keeps the brain working folks!

check ya later, gator!

One year down... photos

Just over one month ago Tim and I celebrated our one year anniversary. We were planning to go away for the weekend but decided to stay close to home after my dads heart attack and lack of planning. Instead we took the money we saved and went shopping. Like crazy shopping. Crazy. We've been on a very tight budget ever since we got married so we can get out of debt ASAP. We don't spend very much $$$ on ourselves and we had saved some $$$ so we went crazy. It was like we've never been to a mall before. We shopped all weekend long and even took Monday off from work to relax [shop]. Life is good. This is what I woke up to... Tim knows the way to my heart :)
Some of the damage:Our after dinner celebration:
I'm finally getting around to adding pictures.... stay tuned!

grrrr....

This past weekend has been crazy busy!! I've tried several times today to upload pictures but have been unsuccessful. Our computer keeps overheating... hence the grrrr. Some of the pictures did make it to facebook so you can check them out there. Hopefully Tim can do something about our computer when he gets home. Here are a few highlights until then:
  • Car came to town
  • Matt Parker is now married
  • Jeremy went to the beach for the first time
  • Lots of time spent with old friends
  • Lots of time spent with family while not at the wedding
  • I'm in the middle of a five-day-weekend and loving it!!

God. Final Answer.

Last night Tim and I were watching one of the many movies we rented from La Case de Andrew and Ann. We were watching Inspector Gadget and it kept skipping [for the record Ann, we didn't do it; it came that way... wiping the sweat from my brow... don't mess with Ann's movies]. Tim decided to try out his CD/DVD doctor and clean it up. This became a very time consuming process so I decided to make up a game while I waited. This conversation lasted about 15 seconds, here's how it went [I hope the humor comes across in my writing, fingers crossed]:

K: [sitting on the couch while Tim's in our kitchen] Ok, Tim, who made our VCR?
T: Toshiba.
K: DVD player?
T: Pioneer.
K: Receiver?
T: Sony.
K: TV?
T: Mitsubishi.
[Tim finishes cleaning the DVD and starts walking back into the living room, leaving the lights on in the kitchen]
K: Light [just meant turn it off... done playing the game]
T: GOD!!!
K: [tears fall from laughing so hard]

I love my husband.
