Behind the Scenes

I figured I should probably update a few of you on what's been going on behind the scenes of this blog.  You know, as in real life.  :)  Here's a list of all things Burkey from the past few weeks....

• We've moved in with my (Kims) parents.  We're doing this for two reasons.  One reason is because our lease ended May 31st.  We knew we didn't want to stay there for another year and the rent would go up if we went month to month, no good.  Another, and the biggest reason, was to save some serious scrilla and get this debt snowball going hardcore.  We had a little set back with our taxes issue and now we want to move full steam ahead! ...and I love living in Granger, no more 30 minute commute to have a social life! 
• This brings me to my next update.  Tim's car has successfully drained our rent savings for this month.  We had to replace the cougars entire fuel system.  Blah.  We we're still having random gasoline leaks here and there after the major work, but I think all of our oil spill issues have been resolved. :)  

 

For a couple of weeks gas would leak out the bottom of our car.  
It was awesome.

• Tim is currently playing with Pure Star Movement.  He'll play his first show with them on July 9th.  Then his second show on July 10th.  Then his third show on July 10th, again.  You get the point.  Things are getting pretty busy around here with that boy. 
• I haven't seen much of Tim lately.  He's played the last two weekends at church and he's on again this weekend.  Then he's off to Fort Wayne for the weekend of July 9th for PSM.
• Tim also made it into the top 25 of Crackberry Idol.  Yes, he is a big dork.  He loves all things electronics and I love him!  His video should be posted in the next two weeks here.  Check it out and vote for him!!
• After reading the three previous bullets, I should probably get a hobby.
• We have a new nephew!! My sister had another baby!!  Yay for all things baby!!

 

• We're looking for a house to rent in Granger.  If anyone knows of ANYTHING, please let me know.  Thanks!
• We still do not have a camera, so no amazing pictures :(  It's really kind of hit or miss when I remember to take my phone out.
• We've had some crazy storms roll through our parts.  A few weekends ago we lost power around 7:30 on a Friday night and didn't get it back until late Monday night.  Needless to say I was a little grumpy that weekend.

Benjamin Hayden Lubsen

Our newest nephew was born early Monday morning.  Isn't he a cutie??  My sister went to the hospital around 11:00 on Sunday night (I think) and he was born just over 5  hours later (Again, I think.  I don't really know).  When I woke up Monday morning I had a text from my sister "Benjamin Hayden born 4:23 weighed 8lbs 5 ounces"  I was so excited!  That was the first time I knew his name.  Since we didn't have power we thought we'd take a ride down to Indy a meet this little guy [and maybe to use their shower and washing machine; they weren't using them so why not?]  I hope to get more pictures of this little guy soon!

Two Years + One Day

Yesterday was our two year anniversary.  Where in the world does the time go?!?  Thank you everyone for well wishes!  Here we go down memory lane... random pictures... even more random order, enjoy!

Quick Update

Just dropping by to say "HI!"  We're alive and close to being done with our move.  We're living with my my parents for a few months.  I must say, I'm loving being back in Granger.  We had a crazy and busy weekend.  Bub graduated from Penn and is now a freshman at IU.  Most of our family was in town for his open house, which I loved!!  Well, that's it for now.  I'm exhausted.  Enjoy some random pictures from my phone from this past weekend :)
