Ideas

Since becoming a mom I've thought of several business ideas/changes that I'm sure you've all thought of before:

• Starbucks delivery services (lets be honest, we've all thought of this, babies or no babies, for years!).
• One word... Peapod.
• Single Parent Parking.  Cars with a ratio of one parent to one or more baby or child should have parking spaces next to the handicap spots.  You know, like when you go to a rather large church and you're always running late [working on that detail :) ], which means you have to park miles away.  You have your infant in their car seat, a diaper bag, a purse, and a guitar stand, because your husband called and he forgot his and needs it but he's already there and on stage [because your late, again] so he can't come out and help you carry everything in.  Oh, yeah... you forgot to check the weather and mistakenly thought you needed your winter coat in DECEMBER, but it turns out it's like 50 degrees so you're sweating like a pig by the time you check your daughter into the nursery.  Yep, single parent parking would be lovely... because I just can't get my act together when I'm alone.
• Restaurants for families ONLY!  I've only come up with this one because I can't stand the cold sweat I break out in when Kiersten gets a little upset at dinner and EVERYONE gives us the nastiest looks.  Sometimes you get looks from diners already eating just because you're coming into their section with a baby.  Since I refuse to stay home just because I've given birth, I'd like to create a must-have-someone-12-or-younger-with-you-to-dine-here restaurant.  That way we're all on a level playing field. 
• Facebook for parents only.  Because we all know "friends" without babies could care less about all the pictures of your precious little one that you're spamming their feed with.  
• Back to the parking.  Parking spots for cars and SUV's with infant seats that aren't vans.  Just make them three feet wider than the rest of the spots so we can open our doors.  Amen.
• Drive-thrus.  Everywhere.

I'm feeling really sassy over here.   The truth is we're very blessed to have the money to go out to eat, to have working cars that need parking spots and can drive to Starbucks, to have the ability to go to church and worship our God, to have computers, phones & the internet to get onto Facebook and to have grocery stores nearby with a wide variety of items instead of having to go out and hunt our own food.  I'm just feeling sassy.  :)

2012

It's the 24th day of January... yikes!  It has become extremely hard to find the time to blog.  I want to capture all of the milestones we're hitting on here so bad.  I constantly think throughout our days, "Oh!  This would make such a great post!!" but I just can't seem to find the time.  We're lucky if our rent get's paid on time some months [just being super dramatic :) ].  I know everyone needs more than 24 hours in their day, but I never knew how completely upside-down my life would turn once I became a mom.  So, as part of a new year resolution-ish idea, I will try to find time to blog.  That is in between feedings, cleaning, laundry, dishes, spending time with Tim, trying to have a social life, learning to knit, reading, and, oh yeah, squeezing in a 40 hour work week wherever I can. You know, like every other mom out there!  :) 


So here's a quick catch up on our little family...

• I'm back at the office 4 days a week... sometimes I only make it in 3 days.
• My aunt Suzanne is teaching me (and my mom & sister) how to knit.  We have been getting together for M.A.D. knitting... Mothers and Daughters.  It's a very entertaining time to say the least.  :)
• I'm reading again... I forgot how much I love to read!  Right now I'm reading Boundaries.
• I'm working on writing the book of Proverbs out by hand.  I'll blog more on this later.
• Tim is very busy giving guitar lessons.  It's becoming a second job, which is amazing.  I love seeing him doing something that he loves.
• He's been reading like crazy... a book like every two weeks.
• Kiersten is growing like a weed!  She'll be 4 months old next week... yikes!
• She has started wearing 9 month clothes already.  Double yikes!
• She loves to hold her own bottles.
• She started rolling onto her side and into circles about a month ago.
• The week before Christmas she decided she no longer wanted to be held like an infant.  She wasn't even 3 months old at the time... that made me sad, but happy at the same time.  
• When she turned 3 months we started using her Bumbo and she loves it!  She hangs out with us like a big girl now.
• She doesn't always take the best naps during the day, which makes working from home really hard, but she definitely makes up for it at night.  We usually put her down around 9:00 and she wakes up around 6:30.  
• We love Kiersten Bethany.
