Safety First

We are experiencing computer issues here in Jersey Circle so I have no pictures to add today.... too bad because I have some really cute ones of Jeremy. Hopefully everything will be up and running soon. With that said...

What were you doing last Tuesday night?? We almost lost our lives to a fire, and it's all my fault. Not really. There was no fire and Tim quickly realized that I am not a fast reactor to danger. Here's the story...

Tim went out with some of his buddies and came home around 9:00. I had just finished my workout, showered and was relaxing in my PJ's watching lame-o TV when he came in. We were sitting in our living room talking when all of the sudden the most annoying sound filled our apartment. It was crazy loud and something we've never heard before in our 11 months [almost married one year, yay!]. Now we have smoke detectors in three of the rooms in our apartment and believe me, we've heard those go off several times before, but this time the sound was different and very annoying. I thought it was an internal tornado alert at first; strange I know. I stuck my head in the hallway and quickly realized it's a building-wide fire alarm and almost everyone that lives here is standing outside [side note: the alarm had been going off for almost 2-3 minutes before we thought to look outside - check one]. When we realized we should head out with the rest of them I looked myself up and down and quickly decided to change. I was in my pajamas, but they weren't the kind you'd be okay with wearing to Wal-Mart if you know what I mean. So I put on some pajama pants and a hoodie and told Tim I was ready. I came running out of our room and decided I needed to change into a shirt too, you know in case this was a real fire. I couldn't walk around our town in only this if everything I owned went up in smoke. So I went back into our room and changed my shirt [check two]. Then I came out again, ready to get the heck out of here, or so I thought. I almost got to the door when I thought, "I look like a clown! I have to put real clothes on!! Like jeans!!" Yep that's what I said and more importantly that's what I did [check three]. Finally about 8-9 minutes later I as ready to go! We got downstairs and I realized I totally forgot to grab my purse, my phone and more importanly my wedding rings (I had just put lotion on my hands before the alarm went off).... but at least I didn't look like a hooker ;)

We were outside for 20 seconds at the most before the alarm turned off and everyone went back into their apartments. At least we were able to see who has animals living with them [we're not allowed to have animals in our complex], so that was a treat.

30 minutes later we heard sirens. Awesome.

I hope you had a good laugh. :)
