Ticking Clock

I can't believe it's been so long since I've last blogged.
I think that's how all of my blogs start.
Can you believe we have to spring forward in just over one week?
I'm not ready for this.
I'm trying to think about what's new around here.
I'm on this new kick, trying to see how long I can go with out grocery shopping.
We pull our grocery money out of the ATM on Sundays.
I'm supposed to then make it s-t-r-e-t-c-h one week.
I'm really getting good at not going to the store at all.
That's really sad, especially since it's impossible not to pass Meijer on my way home everyday.
It's Thursday night and I still have not gone.
Don't worry we're still eating, just eating some real interesting meals.
I've come up with one more meal then I have to go on Saturday.
That's a horrible day to go.
I should have thought that one through a little better.

We've FINALLY put some of our artwork up.
For Christmas Tim (with the help of aunt Suzanne) got the Bethany Beach picture I've been wanting and we finally framed it and hung on the wall. Michele also got us this cool wall vinyl [check them out here]. Tim had the joy of hanging everything up last weekend. Here are some pictures of our place... promise to ignore the clutter.

[ignore the tipping lamp shade... a buddy of ours got that lamp dumpster diving @ Pier 1]

What else is new around here??
Our neighbors next door have moved out.
Our neighbors under us have moved out.
Tim's loving his new guitar "freedom."
Hopefully we get new neighbors soon so he'll have to turn it down.
;) I love him
Carries moving this weekend = I'll be tired come Monday.
We have two days to finish our books.
Pressure.
We've started attending Financial Peace University again at our church.

Life is good.
We are healthy.
We have jobs.
We have family.
We have friends.

Peace.

We Have Worms

Here's what the Burkey's have chosen to read during the first two months of 2009...

One of our goals this year is to read at least one book a month. Well, we've been keeping up and reading like crazy around here... you might as well call me a bookworm. I finished my first book in January, Multiple Blessings by Kate Gosselin. I could not put it down, I loved it! I think I read it in eight days or something like that. I'm a huge fan of the show so it was great to get the back story on their lives and to see how they literally went from surviving to thriving, like I think everyone is these days.

I'm now onto my second book, Captivating. It's also an amazing book. It really gets the mind moving. I'm almost half way through, which is a good pace for me since it's February 11th. Tim read the Shack and loved it! He told me it needs to be my next book. Now he's on to A Bold Fresh and of course he's loving it! I've got to tell you, now that I'm reading I can think a little clearer and my spelling has definitely improved. Who'd a thunk? :)

Love you all!

automobiles

I've got some good news... we have two working cars!! I've never had so many flat tires, cars just turning off while in motion, or major engine replacements than I've had since being married. It doesn't help that we STILL live on a construction site... it looks like the last building is almost complete so hopefully things will be cleaned up soon and that should help with the flat tires. Now both of our cars are running smoothly... knock on wood :)

Lauren's due soon... I think in like three weeks. We're planning to head down to Nashville the weekend after Owen arrives! It will be a quick trip, probably leave on a Friday night right after work and head home Sunday morning.

Tim's in our office right now working on the songs for Gospel Center tomorrow night. I'm watching Live. I should be cleaning, making dinner or working out, but I'm not. I'm here online. He just came out and requested dinner. Now I must be productive. I'll post some pictures later... Tim's on the computer with all of our pictures. I know you want to see our new Impala :)
