O-HI-O

Tim and I spent the 4th of July weekend with Andrew and Ann in O-HI-O. We left Thursday night and spent a few days driving, eating, hiking, eating, shopping, eating, laughing and eating. Here are some of the highlights:
  • Tim decided that he wants to buy a smart car someday after having an hour long conversation with an older gentleman at a random rest stop.
  • Andrew takes 4 hours to pick out a steak.
  • The locals think burger king has the best food in town [they were wrong]
  • They boys made AMAZING steaks
  • We stumbled upon the BEST coffee in the cabinets of our cabin
  • Andrew is not afraid to take a bath 5 feet away from family [see the illustration below]
  • Deer roam freely at all hours
  • Back roads are creepy at 11:00 p.m.
Driving
We found a little white church... I love it!!
There were deer in this field

more of my view

It was gorgeous!!

Playing cranium. The girls were drinking pop... the boys weren't.
It was very interesting!

Here is where Andrew took his bath. He was clothed. Tim and I slept right where that rug is.
It was close. Very close.
Some shots of the cabin

Heading home... back to the real world.

The Great Outdoors

Tim's out with some of his buddies tonight so I'm at home blogging, drinking coffee and watching Jon & Kate Plus 8. This is the life. I finally uploaded some pictures from my camera. These are some of my favorites from the spring/early summer. This was the view from my office this spring. I absolutely love this tree. It will be hard to leave it behind when we move downtown. It was just gorgeous!

I took these pictures while we were driving around one evening. It was right after a storm. The sky was amazing. We saw three or four rainbows. We are right in the middle of reading Genesis right now so it was awesome seeing the rainbows right after reading about them and the promise God made. Beautiful.
Here we are driving around near our apartment complex.
What an exciting life we live.

More rainbows and the Meijer near us.

Find the rainbows.

The End.

St. Louis

During our "honeymoon" week we took a few days and headed to one of Tim's favorite cities... St. Louis. Here's a photo summary of our trip... sit tight I looooove pictures :)

We woke up really early in the morning to hit the road. Here we are driving... I'm pretty sure we were entering the Meijer parking lot. (right next to our apartment)
Pulling into St. Louis... we found our hotel right away!!
[the round buildings]
Found the stadium just as easily!
apparently this these guys are winners

He was dressed and ready to go hours before we needed to leave.
[this is how he spends his time while waiting for me to get ready]

Ozzie Smith
[the WIZARD]
Timmy & Ozzie

You can tell how early we arrived by the empty seats
Our view during the game. The round building to the right of the arch was our hotel.

Sporting some red for my baby
How cute is this?!?!

There were a few fights that broke out during this game

The Arch!!!

The line to go up in the arch
Waiting in line... it took about 3 hours from the time we got there till the time we went up
The view from the arch

Tim took this one... it's looking straight down from the top of the arch. Swalms didn't move from the center of the viewing room.
Some of the flooding

Tim getting into the little cart we rode up there
Riding in the cart... they cramed 5 of us in this little thing. It was built in the 1960's. I was terrified.

Heading home...
